Five Earn Academic Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – Five Stanford women's gymnasts were named Scholastic All-Americans, as announced Wednesday by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W).
 
Sixty-three Cardinal gymnasts have now claimed 126 NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors.
 
The five Cardinal selected were redshirt senior Ivana Hong (human biology, 3.58 GPA), senior Jenna Frowein (architectural design, 3.94), junior Rachel Daum (human biology, 3.52), and freshmen Nicole Hoffman (3.62) and Taryn Fitzgerald (3.70).
 
It is the fourth consecutive award for Frowein and first honors for Hong, Daum, Hoffman and Fitzgerald.
 
Stanford was also recognized as an NACGC/W Scholastic All-America team, earning a 3.49 team cumulative GPA.
 
Stanford is coming off of a 2016 season in which it competed in its ninth NCAA Championships in the past 10 years and 16th overall, tied for the highest score at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional and picked up four regular season wins against NCAA Championships teams.
