STANFORD, Calif. – Nine members of the 2015-2016 Stanford men's tennis team have been honored as ITA All-Academic Team honorees. In addition, the team garnered an ITA All-Academic Team award for posting a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
Tom Fawcett, Michael Genender, Yale Goldberg, Sameer Kumar, Maciek Romanowicz, Trey Strobel, Brandon Sutter, Anthony Tsodikov and David Wilczynski were selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).
Boasting an overall team GPA of 3.63, Stanford also collected its 12th ITA All-Academic Team award, claiming the honor 12 of the 14 years since its inception in 2002.
