STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford finished its nonconference schedule with a 2-1 win over Santa Clara on Friday night at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

The Cardinal (7-0-1) held a 20-9 advantage in shots over the Broncos (2-4-3), who were dealt a 2-0 deficit just 34 minutes into the match.

Jordan DiBiasi opened the scoring in the 13th minute, slamming home the rebound after Kyra Carusa was denied by the Santa Clara keeper.

The Cardinal doubled its lead in the 34th minute when Sam Tran scored her first collegiate goal, a left-footed finish assisted by fellow freshman Tierna Davidson. Davidson collected the ball 40 yards from goal, gliding past her marker before feeding Tran on the edge of the box.

Jenna Roering pulled one back for Santa Clara in the 39th minute, cutting Stanford's lead to 2-1 entering halftime.

The second half was scoreless, with Jane Campbell making two big saves late in regulation to seal the undefeated nonconference run for the Cardinal. Campbell finished the evening with five saves.

Stanford returns to action next Saturday at Cagan Stadium when it hosts Oregon to open Pac-12 conference play. A free live stream and statistics will be available at GoStanford.com
