STANFORD, Calif. – Kelsey Bing has been named the America East Defensive Player of the Week for her shutout over UMass and 3-1 win over Yale to lead the 17th-ranked Cardinal to a 2-0 record over the weekend.
Overall, the freshman goalkeeper allowed just one goal while making eight saves in Stanford's wins over UMass and Yale.
Bing was phenomenal against UMass on Friday with three stops and her second shutout of the year against the Minutewomen before making five stops in a 3-1 win at Yale on Sunday.
The award is the first of Bing's career and second conference honor for the Cardinal this season.
