STANFORD, Calif. - The 17th-ranked Cardinal field hockey team will take to the road one last time in the 2016 regular season this weekend as it sets to take on No. 10 Northwestern in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday at 12 p.m. and Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich. on Sunday at 11 a.m. (PT).

Last Week with Stanford Field Hockey
• The Cardinal wrapped up its conference slate while clinching the No. 1 seed in the America East West Division with a dominant 6-1 win over UC Davis and a 2-0 win over Cal to close out with a 5-1 record in conference play. In addition, captain Fran Tew was named America East Offensive Player of the Week for her three goals to lead the Cardinal to two wins.

In the Polls
• The Cardinal checked in at No. 17 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Preseason Poll
this week - the 49th consecutive week it has remained in the top-20 rankings. Its preseason ranking of 11 is the second highest in program history.

Wily Wildcats
• Since 1981 the Cardinal has taken on the Northwestern Wildcats 17 times with NU holding an 11-6 record. In neutral sites the 'Cats hold a 5-1 advantage. Under Danielson? 2-1.

This is....SPARTA!
• Ok, so maybe East Lansing isn't Sparta. All-time though the Michigan State Spartans hold an 8-4 record on the Cardinal. Under the leadership of Danielson her teams are 2-2 overall against MSU.

Best in the West
• While the argument exists that most of the NCAA's powerhouse programs are in the east - no one can deny that Stanford is the powerhouse of the west. The Cardinal has made consistent appearances on the Penn Monto/NFHCA Preseason Poll... as the sole west coast team.

In addition, Stanford was selected for the second consecutive year as favorites in the America East West Division - it clinched it's second No. 1 seed against Cal on Sunday October 23rd.

Game of Numbers
• 76 - Consecutive games (over 5 years) that the Cardinal have allowed three or less goals (last was No. 1 UNC 11/10/12)
• 4 - Freshmen that have played in every game
• 50-11 - Career record in home matches for Danielson
• 74 - Winning percentage Danielson has in her tenure at Stanford

Welch's Wickedly (Accurate) Ways
• Jessica Welch has stepped up to lead the Cardinal in goals this year with 6... with only 16 shots on goal. She puts it on target? It has over a 38% chance of finding net.

Terrible Tews
• Fran Tew has exploded out of the gates to lead the Cardinal this season. You'll always hear her in the backfield, but she's vicious on attack. Give her a second she'll throw it down - which she did scoring two goals against UC Davis on October 21 and another against Cal on October 23 to be named America East Offensive Player of the Week on October 25.
