Ajanaku, Plummer Recognized

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford middle blocker Inky Ajanaku and outside hitter Kathryn Plummer have been selected the Pac-12 Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively, the conference announced today.

The pair helped lead Stanford to a pair of sweeps over No. 7 Washington and No. 18 Washington State last week, marking the first time this season the Cardinal had won two home matches in the same week.
 
Ajanaku averaged 3.50 kills and 4.30 points per set on .645 hitting in the two matches. She posted a season-high .786 attack percentage with 11 kills on 14 errorless swings to go with four blocks against the Huskies. Stanford has handed Washington two of its three losses this season.
 
Against the Cougars, Ajanaku hit .529 with 10 kills and three blocks, helping lead Stanford to a .322 attack percentage as a team for the week.
 
Plummer paced the Cardinal with 4.67 kills (1.81 more than her season average), 3.67 digs and 5.20 points in the two matches.
 
She posted her team-best fifth double-double of the season against the Huskies with 11 kills and 15 digss. She followed up against the Cougars with a match-high 17 kills, the most in a three-set match by a Cardinal player this season, adding seven digs, a solo block and an ace.

It is the fifth weekly honor of Ajanaku's career and the second time Plummer is being named the freshman of the week. The Cardinal now boasts 99 player of the week winners and 19 freshman of the week accolades, which is the most all-time in the conference.

Stanford continues Pac-12 play on the road this week, traveling to Colorado on Nov. 4 and No. 19 Utah on Nov. 5. Friday's match against the Buffaloes will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
