STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford junior Christian McCaffrey has been named a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, as announced Thursday.

McCaffrey, who won the award in 2015, has five times been named to the Hornung Award honor roll this season.

The workhorse leads the Cardinal in rushing, scoring, punt and kickoff returns, and is third on the team in receiving.

He has accounted for 200 or more all-purpose yards in six games in 2016 and scored 11 touchdowns despite being bracketed by defensive schemes all season.

McCaffrey leads the Pac-12 with 193.22 all-purpose yards/game and 123.9 rushing yards/game, with the former ranking second nationally. For his career, McCaffrey is averaging 177.75 all-purpose yards/game, the most of any active FBS player.

The award winner will be announced Dec. 7.
