Robinson Joins Staff

STANFORD, Calif. – Cale Robinson will join Stanford as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2017 season, as announced recently by head coach Kristen Smyth.

Robinson returns to a familiar gym after competing for the Cardinal's men's gymnastics team from 2011-14. He graduated in 2014 with a degree in human biology.

Following graduation, Robinson became the head coach at Waller's GymJam Academy in Santa Clarita. He helped coached over 30 state, regional and national champions. Robinson also coached an athlete to the 2016 Hopes Championships in Hartford, Connecticut.

Robinson will assist the team with training and scheduling, among other responsibilities. Along with assisting Stanford, Robinson currently serves as a co-head coach at Airborne Gymnastics in Santa Clara.

As a student-athlete at Stanford, Robinson was a two-time team captain and competed in floor exercise, vault, parallel bars and high bar. He excelled in the classroom and earned 2014 MPSF All-Academic honors. Robinson was a member of the Cardinal Council and served as a team manager for the women's gymnastics team during his senior season.

Robinson was a member of Stanford's 100th NCAA Championship team when the men's team claimed the title during his freshman year in 2011.
