Four Named All-Region

STANFORD, Calif. – Tying a program best, four Stanford athletes were named Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region selections, as announced Tuesday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The Cardinal also saw four honored in 2013 and 2014.

Caroline Beaudoin, Kelsey Bing and Fran Tew were named to the first team, while Sarah Helgeson received second team honors.

The foursome are now eligible for All-America recognition, which will be announced Dec. 7.

The honor is the second for Helgeson and career-firsts for Beaudoin, Bing and Tew.

The Cardinal (14-6, 5-1 AE) collected its program first America East title, in only its second year in the conference en route to the program's 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Tara Danielson, Steve Danielson and Patrick Cota all collected their 100th win at Stanford this season, while falling in only one conference game all year.

Caroline Beaudoin and Kelsey Bing claimed America East Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year respectively, while five Cardinal were named to the America East All-Conference Team.
