STANFORD, Calif. - Five Cardinal were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District football team on Thursday. Junior Harrison Phillips, fifth-year senior Dallas Lloyd, junior Christian McCaffrey, fifth-year senior Johnny Caspers and junior Jesse Burkett all earned the academic recognition.

This marks the second such honor for Caspers, Lloyd and McCaffrey.

A three-time Pac-12 All-Academic honoree, Caspers has played in all but one game on Stanford's offensive line over the last four seasons, and has maintained a 3.36 grade-point average as an earth systems major.

Lloyd, who has started each of the past 21 games in the defensive backfield and leads the team with three interceptions, has earned his undergraduate degree and is pursuing a master's in communication with a 3.40 GPA.

McCaffrey, who was an Academic All-American and AP Player of the Year last season, holds a 3.43 GPA as a communication major, and currently ranks sixth nationally with 182.9 all-purpose yards/game.

Phillips, a double major in sociology and science, technology and society with a 3.34 GPA, and ranks second on the team in sacks and tackles for loss this season, while Burkett has started every game at center for the Cardinal in 2016 and holds a 3.43 GPA as a Japanese major. 

The first-team honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
