GALVESTON, Texas – Four Stanford sailors competed at the ICSA Singlehanded Championships this past weekend, hosted by Texas A&M University at Galveston.

On the women's side, junior Haley Fox was Stanford's highest finisher in 13th place while sophomore Olivia Gugliemini was 15th. Last year, Fox and Gugliemini finished ninth and 14th, respectively.

Sophomore William Marshall led the Cardinal contingent with an 11th-place finish in the men's championship in his first ICSA singlehanded appearance. Junior Luke Muller placed 14th after finishing runner-up as a freshman and sixth place last season.

The championships were the first of the season to count towards the Fowle Trophy, a season-long competition determined by schools' performances at the six ICSA National Championships.

Stanford's four representatives at the regatta tied for the second-most of any school behind College of Charleston (5).

The Cardinal returns to action next weekend in its final competitive regatta of the Fall, the PCCSC Fall Coed Championship in Santa Barbara, California. Live results will be available at GoStanford.com.
