Season in Review

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford won its second consecutive Pac-12 title, earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced past the first round of the tournament for the 11th straight season during a successful 2016 campaign.
 
Three Stanford players earned NSCAA All-America honors, five earned NSCAA All-Pacific Region honors, eight earned All-Pac-12 recognition and 10 claimed Pac-12 All-Academic accolades.
 
Andi Sullivan was named a Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy finalist – the most prestigious individual award in the country. Maddie Bauer was named a semifinalist for the same award.
 
Bauer was a consensus first-team Academic All-America, earning recognition from CoSIDA and the NSCAA. 
 
The coaching staff, led by head coach Paul Ratcliffe, earned NSCAA Pacific Region Staff of the Year recognition. Ratcliffe claimed the seventh Pac-12 Coach of the Year award of his career.
 
Stanford made its 26th NCAA Tournament appearance and 19th consecutive. The Cardinal earned one of four No. 1 seeds and extended its postseason home unbeaten streak to 30 matches before falling to Santa Clara, 2-1, in double-overtime in the second round.
 
Stanford earned its 11th Pac-12 title this past weekend and sixth championship in the past eight seasons. The Cardinal led the Pac-12 in goals scored with 48 overall and 27 in conference play. Team Season Honors
