STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford is well-represented at U.S. Women's National Team camps in January with six current and former players called into national team training.
Jane Campbell, Kelley O'Hara and Christen Press were called into the senior women's national team camp, while Maddie Bauer, Tierna Davidson and Jordan DiBiasi participated in the U-23 camp.
Campbell, O'Hara and Press were part of a group of 29 players selected to participate in the first training camp of 2017, which runs from Jan. 13-23 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California.
The camp will serve as an evaluation period for head coach Jill Ellis to select a team for the SheBelieves Cup, which includes top opponents Germany, France and England.
Bauer, Davidson and DiBiasi trained in Carson from Jan. 6-13 with a mix of top players for the U.S. youth national teams, elite college players and four NWSL players. Ellis and her staff observed training sessions to evaluate players for potential senior national team call-ups.
Davidson was one of five players asked to attend camp with the full U.S. Women's National Team after the conclusion of the U-23 camp. It is the first call-up to the senior national team of her career.
Davidson is the third current Stanford player to be called into a full national team camp this school year after Andi Sullivan and Jane Campbell earned multiple call-ups earlier this year.
