STANFORD, Calif. - No. 20 Stanford posted its second shutout of the season, blanking UNLV 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
The Cardinal (4-1) opened its three-match homestand with a victory while the Rebels suffered their first loss in five matches. The match was originally scheduled for Friday but shifted due to rain.
Stanford took a 1-0 lead after sweeping all three matches to claim the doubles point.
After Sameer Kumar and Michael Genender powered their way to wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots, respectively, the clincher came from Brandon Sutter on court six in a 7-5, 6-2 triumph over Richard Solberg.
Stanford next hosts Saint Mary's on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 12:30 p.m.
