STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford scored a season-high 196.325 but it was not quite enough to take down No. 10 Oregon State on Friday evening in Maples Pavilion.
Five Cardinal (6-7, 3-3 Pac-12) gymnasts combined for seven top-three finishes and Stanford hit 22-of-24 routines. However, the Beavers (7-2, 3-2 Pac-12) hit all 24 of their routines to score a season-best 197.125 and earn the victory.
Despite the defeat, Stanford celebrated its four seniors – Rachel Daum, Danielle McNair, Nicolette McNair and Haley Spector – throughout the meet and with a postmeet Senior Night ceremony. The quartet has helped the Cardinal reach the NCAA Championships in each of their first three seasons, including a trip to the Super Six during their sophomore seasons.
Nicolette McNair made her Senior Night one to remember, tying for first on bars with a 9.875 and placing third on beam with a 9.850.
