WASHINGTON, D.C. – Three Stanford gymnasts combined for three individual event victories but it was not quite enough to cover a rough day Sunday at the George Washington Quad Meet.

No. 18 George Washington finished first with a 196.500 and was followed by NC State (194.575) and Yale (194.575). Stanford finished fourth with a 193.275.

Elizabeth Price finished first on bars with a 9.925. Ashley Tai and Nicolette McNair tied for the individual victory on beam with scores of 9.875.

Stanford got off to a slow start on floor due to a fall early in the lineup. However, the Cardinal rallied to salvage a 48.525.

Elizabeth Price paced the team with a 9.850 and was followed by Rachel Daum (9.775) and Hailee Hoffman (9.700).

The Cardinal faced a similar situation on bars with an early fall. Stanford nearly covered with each of its next three gymnasts hitting their routines but a miss in the anchor spot forced the Cardinal to count a fall.

Price again led Stanford with a 9.850, and was followed by Danielle McNair and Ashley Tai with scores 9.725.

McNair got Stanford going on bars with a 9.825 on bars but the Cardinal had its momentum halted by a fall in the second spot. Stanford only had five gymnasts in its bars lineups which forced the Cardinal to count the missed routine.

The Cardinal rebounded with its next three gymnasts hitting their routines. Price capped the event with a meet-best 9.925.

Tai and McNair helped Stanford finish strong on beam with a pair of 9.875s. Rachel Daum (9.775) and Taryn Fitzgerald also contributed quality performances in the event.

Stanford will look to get back on track next Saturday when it plays host to the Pac-12 Championships in Maples Pavilion. The first session will start at 1 p.m. (PT) and the second will begin at 6 p.m.
