Han is Sharp

INDIANAPOLIS – The Stanford women's team held its own on Saturday during the first three rounds of the National Collegiate Fencing Championships at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
 
Three Cardinal student-athletes competed: freshman Amanda Han in epee, sophomore Carly Weber-Levin in sabre, and senior Eliza Klyce in foil.
 
Han got off to a great start by winning five of her first seven bouts. She finished the day 7-8 and is 12th in the competition.
 
Weber-Levine posted a 6-9 mark and is 19th, while Klyce went 3-12 and is 22nd.  
 
Rounds four and five will be held Sunday, followed by the semifinals and finals. The latter two begin at 1:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
 
Host Notre Dame leads the team competition with 152 points. Stanford is 10th with 66.
 
There are 27 schools participating.
