STANFORD, Calif. – David Wilczynski pushed his dual match win streak to six as the No. 22 Cardinal claimed a 4-0 win over Utah Saturday afternoon to finish its sweep of its four matches this week.
The Cardinal (12-4, 2-0 Pac-12) grabbed the doubles point from the Utes with Sameer Kumar and William Genensen opening with a 6-4 win at the No. 2 spot. Brandon Sutter and David Wilczynski claimed the 10th doubles point of the season while pushing their win streak to five as the duo won 6-2 at No. 3.
Tom Fawcett made it 2-0 claiming a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 1 position against David Micevski in his first win since March 7.
Brandon Sutter kept his win streak intact as he grabbed a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 5 over Joe Woolley to make it five straight singles dual wins.
The clincher came from red-hot David Wilczynski, who pushed his win streak to six with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 3 for his third clinching point of the year and seventh of his career.
The Cardinal continues home Pac-12 play next weekend as it hosts USC and UCLA April 7 and 9. The USC match is set for 3 p.m. PT followed with UCLA on Saturday at 1 p.m. PT at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
