STANFORD, Calif. – Akash Modi claimed four event titles Saturday as the No. 2 Cardinal swept No. 12 Cal in team and event titles for the fourth time this season. Stanford topped Cal 422.900 to 406.000 to close out the regular season.

Three Cardinal (13-2, 5-1 MPSF) combined to claim all seven event titles on the night. Akash Modi took the title in floor, pommel horse, parallel bars and the all-around. Taylor Seaton also claimed multiple titles, taking home the crown in vault and high bar while Josiah Eng rounded out the sweep on rings.

During the meet, Stanford celebrated its five seniors – Jordan DeClerk, Andrew Misiolek, Akash Modi, Taylor Seaton and Drew Willoughby. The class has helped lead the Cardinal to two second-place finishes and a third-place finish in the NCAA Championship.

Stanford opened the meet posting a season-best 73.600 as a team on floor with Akash Modi claiming the title with a season-high 15.250. The Cardinal took all five of the top scores with the exception of one in the event.

It was senior night on the pommel horse as Modi struck again in with a 14.550. Drew Willoughby took second (14.150) and Andrew Misiolek third (13.750) to pull away from Cal early.

Josiah Eng added his fifth event title in rings next with a 14.200 as Akash Modi, Taylor Seaton and Jordan DeClerk all posted the best scores in the event to put up a 69.150 as a team.

Gareth Weiss opened the vault with a season-high 14.350 that Bailey Perez topped next with a career-high 14.500. Taylor Seaton, Akash Modi and Perez all rounded out the top three scores in the event to push Stanford to over an 11 point lead.

Stanford set another season-best mark on parallel bars with a 71.500 as Modi (15.400) added his fifth event title of the year while combining with Jordan DeClerk (14.650) and Robert Neff (14.250) to take the top three spots.

Closing out the regular season at home on high bar, Seaton delivered again with a 14.300 to take his first title of the year in the event.

Akash Modi also added his fifth event title in the all-around posting an 87.650 – his third best score of the year.

The Cardinal will begin its postseason quest to claim its fifth conference championship next week as it travels to compete in the MPSF Championship. Meet time is set for 4 p.m. PT in Berkeley, Calif. at Haas Pavilion.
