Duo Earns All-America Honors

STANFORD, Calif. – Evan Enriques and Kevin Rakestraw were recognized when the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its All-America selections today.

The duo earned honorable mention accolades for the Cardinal. Enriques secured his second career All-America honors after being named to the first team in 2016. Rakestraw is being recognized for the first time in his career. The selections bring Stanford's total AVCA All-America award count to 57 honors spread over 26 players.

Enriques, a libero from Punalu'u, Hawaii, is a two-time All-MPSF selection. The junior led the MPSF in conference matches with 2.67 digs per set and ranks 14th nationally with 2.36 digs per set overall. He notched double-digit digs in 12 matches in 2017, including a season-high 15 against UC Santa Barbara on Feb. 11. Additionally, he was a finalist for Off the Block's 2017 Erik Shoji Award, presented to the nation's top libero.

Rakestraw, a redshirt junior middle blocker, is also a two-time all-conference honoree. The Newport Beach, California native is sixth in the MPSF with a .433 attack percentage and ninth with 1.04 blocks per set, leading the Cardinal in both categories. His .750 attack percentage against UC San Diego in the regular season finale was the highest by a Stanford player in 2017.
