STANFORD, Calif. – Thirteen Cardinal received Academic All-Pac-12 honors on Tuesday. Junior Andrew Summerville was a first team selection for the second straight year, while junior Quinn Brodey, senior Tyler Thorne and junior Matt Winaker earned second team honors.
Nine others – Kris Bubic, Chris Castellanos, Mikey Diekroeger, Colton Hock, Nico Hoerner, Duke Kinamon, Jack Klein, Keith Weisenberg and Alec Wilson – were named honorable mention.
Summerville, who was also a CoSIDA Academic All-District pick for the second consecutive year, holds a 3.88 GPA and recently started a co-term in management, science and technology. He is set to graduate in three years, and has begun work on his masters. Summerville has started 12 games this season and is 5-1 with a 4.09 ERA.
Winaker joined Summerville on the CoSIDA Academic All-District team this season, and collects his second career Academic All-Pac-12 honor. A science, technology and society major, Winaker has a 3.49 GAP in science, technology and society. Brodey maintains a 3.45 GPA as a management, science and engineering major, and was an honorable mention selection last year. Thorne made the second team for the second straight season with a 3.46 GPA as a science, technology and society major. Brodey and Winaker have started every game this season, while Thorne leads the team with 28 relief appearances.
This is also the second career Academic All-Pac-12 honor for Castellanos, Diekroeger, Hock, Klein and Weisenberg.
Stanford (40-14, 21-9 Pac-12) posted its best regular season since 2004 and will host the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2012.

The Regional All-Session package, which includes tickets to all seven possible games, is on sale for $60 and $45 for youth/seniors -- a significant savings over single-game tickets. General admission tickets will only be sold after all reserved seats have been sold. Single-game tickets will be available beginning on Thursday.
To be eligible for the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, student-athletes must be in at least their second year at the institution, maintain a minimum of a 3.00 GPA and must be a starter or significant contributor. Position players must compete in 50 percent of games.
