STANFORD, Calif. – Seniors Ruth Narode and Filippa Karrfelt and sophomore Stephanie Grauer were selected to the Division I First Team All-America Team by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.
The three honorees bring the total of All-America selections for Stanford to 34 since 2007.
The Cardinal trio, who were also honored on the CRCA Division I All-Region Team, each rowed in Stanford's varsity eight that finished second in the NCAA Championships on Lake Mercer in New Jersey in May. Karrfelt stroked the varsity eight, while Grauer rowed in the six-seat and Narode rowed in the five-seat for the Cardinal. Stanford finished sixth as a team at the NCAA Championships, recording the Cardinal's fourth consecutive top-six team finish.
Narode and Grauer were also recognized on the All-Pac-12 rowing team. Narode was named the Pac-12 Women's Rowing Athlete of the Year.
The CRCA recognizes the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains on the national level in women's collegiate rowing. Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team's national finish, coaches recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.
