STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford was honored with three selections among this year's All-Pac-12 Team, including junior Tom Fawcett being voted Singles Player of the Year, as announced by the conference office Wednesday.
The honor is the first for Fawcett, who was also named the 2015 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. The accolade is the 18th in program history for the Cardinal, and first since Alex Clayton in 2008.
Fawcett (22-10, 12-6 duals) is a three-time all-conference first-team honoree. Ranked No. 11 nationally while playing at the No. 1 position for the Cardinal all three years of his career, Fawcett has compiled a 70-29 overall record and has a 42-18 record in duals. This season, Fawcett advanced to the NCAA singles semifinals as well as joined an elite list of Stanford legends by adding his name to the all-time career duals victories list.
Joining Fawcett in all-conference honors were teammates Sameer Kumar and David Wilczynski, who both claimed honorable mention accolades. The honor is the first of Kumar's career and second for Wilczynski, who was also named Pac-12 Player of the Week twice this season.
Stanford closed out its 2017 season with an 18-9 overall record while reaching the NCAA round of 16 for the second consecutive year.
