STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Colton Hock earned a second first-team All-America honor and also joined sophomore Nico Hoerner on the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region teams.
Hoerner was a second team ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selection. He started all 58 games at shortstop and led the Cardinal with 77 hits, which also ranked fifth in the Pac-12. He led the conference with 52 hits in Pac-12 play. In addition, his 18 doubles were fourth in the Pac-12 and his .388 average in Pac-12 play ranked second. Defensively, the Oakland native was named the shortstop for the All-Pac-12 defensive team, and was named All-Pac-12 and honorable mention Academic All-Pac-12.
Hock, who was drafted in the fourth round of the MLB Draft by the Florida Marlins, is the first Cardinal named first-team All-America since Mark Appel in 2013. He was the only relief pitcher named to the ABCA/Rawlings first team. He was also named to the coaches associations' All-Region first team. It added to his All-America honors from NCBWA (first team), Collegiate Baseball News (second team), Baseball America (second team) and Perfect Game (third team). He was also an All-Pac-12 and an honorable mention Academic All-Pac-12 selection.
