Going International

STANFORD, Calif. - Jordan Ewert kicks off a summer of international competition for several Stanford men's volleyball players. 

Ewert, who will be a junior in the fall, heads to the Czech Republic with teh U.S. Men's Junior National Team for the FIVB U21 World Championships, June 23 - July 2. In pool play, the U.S. will face Turkey, Cuba and Russia. Ewert was an honorable mention All-MPSF pick as a sophomore despite missing nine of the final 10 matches for the Cardinal.

Ewert will then join teammates Paul Bischoff, Evan Enriques and Kevin Rakestraw on the United States' World University Games roster at the Summer University Games. Cardinal head coach John Kosty will lead the charge for Team USA in Taipei, Taiwan, Aug. 19-30. The U.S. will compete in Pool A at the World University Games along with Brazil, France, Japan and Chinese Taipei.

Rakestraw and Enriques were both tabbed AVCA All-America honorable mention in 2017, while Bischoff earned a spot on the MPSF All-Freshman Team. Kosty completed his 11th season at the helm of the Cardinal program in 2017 and his 27th overall on staff.

Aditionally, incoming freshmen Jaylen Jasper and Kyler Presho-Hartung will be competing for the U.S. Youth National Team at the FIVB U19 World Championships in Bahrain, Aug. 18-27.
