Heading into Nationals

STANFORD, Calif. - Thirteen Stanford swimmers will compete at the Phillips 66 USA Swimming National Championships, Tuesday-Saturday, at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Leah Stevens, Megan Byrnes, Katie Drabot, Ella Eastin, Lia Neal, Katie Ledecky, Kim Williams, Simone Manuel, Lindsey Engel, Ally Howe, Erin Voss, Alexandra Meyers and Allie Szekely will all represent the Cardinal at the same site of their national championship performance. Incoming freshmen Brooke Forde, Lauren Green, Ashley Volpenhein, Grace Zhao and Hannah Kukurugya are also competing. 

In addition, Stanford's Paul A. Violich Director of Women's Swimming Greg Meehan is serving as the USA's head women's coach at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, July 23-30.

In April, diver Kassidy Cook won the national title in the synchronized 3-meter springboard and qualified for the World Championships in the event.

Beginning at 6 a.m. PT, each day's prelim session will be streamed live in its entirety at USASwimming.org. Live finals webcasts will be available on either USASwimming.org or the NBC Sports app. NBC will also televise 12 hours of coverage throughout the week on its various networks. The top two finishers in each event will advance to the World Championships with several exceptions. For relays, the top six finishes in the 100-meter freestyle and 200-meter freestyle qualify. For the 50-meter butterfly, 50-meter breaststroke, 50-meter backstroke and 800-meter freestyle, only the fastest swimmer qualifies for Worlds.
