STANFORD, Calif. – No. 1 Stanford, the two-time defending NCAA champions, will host a free youth clinic before its exhibition against Pacific on Saturday evening along with tours of its locker room at Cagan Stadium.
The free clinic will be run by Cardinal coaches and players from 5-6 p.m. on Maloney Field, directly behind the east side of Cagan Stadium adjacent to El Camino Real and is for youth ages 5-12. Those interested in participating should email smsoccer@stanford.edu so the program can prepare stations and drills for the correct number of individuals.
Prior to the clinic fans can tour the Cardinal's locker room at Cagan Stadium from 4:30-5 p.m. The entrance will be off Maloney Field behind the east stands at Cagan Stadium.
The festivities precede Stanford's exhibition against Pacific which begins at 7 p.m. Admission to the match is free. The Cardinal beat Portland 3-0 on Sunday in its first tune-up of 2017.
Stanford's regular-season home opener is on Friday, Sept. 1 against No. 14 Creighton at 7 p.m. The match against the Bluejays is Cardinal Kids Day and fans can receive up to two free youth tickets with the purchase of a paid adult ticket. The first 1,000 fans in attendance that evening will also receive a t-shirt celebrating the program's back-to-back national championships.
