Lee Shares Title

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Sophomore Andrea Lee fired a near flawless 5-under 67 to share medalist honors and led the Stanford women's golf team to a tie for third on Tuesday in the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico.

Lee fashioned five birdies and no bogeys at the University of New Mexico Championship Course to card the fourth victory of her career. That ties her with former Stanford standout and current LPGA player Mariah Stackhouse for the third most in program history.

Lee posted rounds of 73-68-67 to complete play at 8-under 208. That matched the figure shot by first day leader Bianca Pagdanganan of Arizona (67-67-74).

The Cardinal closed with an even-par score of 288 and completed the 54-hole tournament at 5-over 869. Oklahoma State claimed team honors with a 1-under total of 863 in the 18-team event.

Stanford freshman Mika Liu tied for 20th in her collegiate debut at 3-over 219 (74-72-73), while senior Shannon Aubert tied for 33rd at 5-over 221 (72-72-77). Sophomore Ziyi (Emily) Wang tied for 44th at 7-over 223 (78-72-73), and junior Sierra Kersten tied for 74th at 13-over 229 (79-75-75).

Stanford returns to competition Oct. 1-3 at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Presented by 3M at Olympic Hills Golf Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
