STANFORD, Calif. – Six first-half goals powered No. 2 Stanford to a commanding 8-0 over San Francisco on Friday night at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

Eight Cardinal etched their names on the scoresheet, led by Jordan DiBiasi with a goal and two assists. Stanford (5-1-0) started quickly and never looked back, making 39 attempts on the Dons' (2-4-1) goal – it was the most in a game since Stanford took 48 shots against Oregon State in 2014.

Stanford's tally and margin of victory were also the highest since an 8-0 win against Dayton in 2014. Lauren Rood continued her scoreless start to the season, earning her third shutout in as many games.

Kyra Carusa opened the scoring in the fourth minute, slamming home from inside the six-yard box after a clever touch by DiBiasi. Civana Kuhlmann got her fourth of the season 10 minutes later, finishing a loose ball in the USF box from close range.

Tierna Davidson scored her first goal of the season in the 16th minute to make it 3-0. The sophomore swept it wide to Catarina Macario, who beat her marker and teed up the late-arriving Davidson for a one-time finish from the center of the box. It was the first goal of the year for Davidson, who was recently called into the United States National Team.

DiBiasi then made it 4-0 in the 19th minute. The junior made a clever run behind the Dons' defense, and Kuhlmann played the perfect ball to set up a left-footed finish inside the far post.

DiBiasi continued to terrorize USF's defense, setting up Macario for Stanford's fifth goal in the 21st minute. Carusa released DiBiasi down the right wing, and the latter pulled it back to the foot of Macario on the opposite end of the box. Macario's first touch set her up for a confident finish into the top corner for her seventh goal of the season.

Freshman Madison Haley polished off the opening 25 minutes with Stanford's sixth goal. Sam Tran gathered a loose ball in the box and laid it off to Haley, who snuck a tidy finish inside the left goal post for her first career goal.

Stanford started the second half where it left off, peppering the USF goal with several dangerous efforts. Macario had several shots denied by fine saves from the keeper, but Stanford got its seventh goal in the 73rd minute through Averie Collins. Haley played a through ball to the foot of Collins, who smashed it past the keeper for her first goal of the year. Andi Sullivan earned a second assist on Collins' goal with a pinged 50-yard ball to the foot of Haley.

Mariah Lee became Stanford's eighth goal scorer of the evening with an impressive solo effort down the right wing. Lee used her pace to beat her marker, neatly finishing from a tight angle for her second goal of the season.

With Friday's performance, Stanford improves to 3-0-0 at Cagan Stadium this season – the Cardinal have yet to concede a goal at home while scoring 19.
