LOS ANGELES – Jordan DiBiasi's first-half goal was enough for No. 1 Stanford to earn its 14th straight win over No. 6 UCLA on Thursday night at Drake Stadium.

Alison Jahansouz finished with three saves, including a fingertip stop in the 70th minute to prevent UCLA from leveling the score. In the 28th minute, DiBiasi slammed home a second ball in the box after Jaye Boissiere's corner looped into a dangerous area. Alana Cook headed the loose ball to the left post, and DiBiasi was there for her sixth goal of the season.

With an eighth consecutive shutout, the Cardinal (16-1-0 overall, 9-0-0 Pac-12) stretched its run without allowing a goal to 773:20 minutes. DiBiasi's goal was 18th of her career – of those goals, 10 have been game winners.

The Bruins (13-2-2, 6-2-1) created the first chance of the game inside 15 seconds, but Stanford countered with a great scoring chance from Kyra Carusa in the second minute. Carusa had another chance to open the scoring in the 24th minute, only to be denied by a brilliant save.

In the 27th minute, UCLA's Hailie Mace rattled the crossbar, and DiBiasi capitalized shortly after to give Stanford the lead. Tierna Davidson's sliding challenge in the box prevented another Bruin chance in the 31st minute, and Stanford entered halftime with a narrow advantage.

Carusa almost doubled the lead in the 51st minute, forcing a last-ditched defensive save off the line with UCLA's keeper out of the net. Jahansouz stepped up for Stanford in the 70th minute with a fabulous tip save, and came off her line two minutes later to smother a dangerous ball in the box.

Stanford absorbed pressure over the final 15 minutes, and saw out its 14th consecutive win and eighth without allowing a goal. Stanford sits atop the Pac-12 standings with 27 points, two ahead of Sunday's opponent, No. 5 USC. With a win, the Cardinal would clinch its third consecutive Pac-12 championship.

Top-ranked Stanford plays its final regular season road game on Sunday when it faces USC at McAlister Field in Los Angeles at 3 p.m. PT. The game will broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks with live statistics available at GoStanford.com.Cardinal Notes
