EDEN PRAIRIE, MN. – Sparked by the play of sophomore Andrea Lee, the Stanford women's golf team placed third Tuesday in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate at Olympic Hills Golf Club.
 
Lee carded a bogey-free 3-under 69 and tied for third in the 12-team event hosted by LPGA great, Annika Sorenstam. It was Lee's 11th top 10 showing in 13 career starts for the Cardinal.
 
Stanford closed with an 8-over par score of 296 to conclude the 54-hole tournament at 6-over 870. Top-ranked Arkansas combined for a 10-under 278 to win at 16-under 848, while UCLA took second at 860.
 
Three other Cardinal participants wound up in the top 30.
 
 Freshman Mika Liu shared 11th in her second collegiate start at 1-under 215 (69-72-75) after tying for 20th in her program debut at the Dick McGuire/Branch Law Invitational. Sophomore Albane Valenzuela tied for 24th at 5-over 221 (77-70-74) in her first start of the season, while senior Shannon Aubert tied for 26th at 6-over 222 (75-69-78).
 
Senior Calli Ringsby tied for 55th at 23-over 239 (81-76-82).    
 
Stanford returns to competition October 16-18 when it hosts the Stanford Intercollegiate at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, California.
