WASHINGTON, D.C. - No. 5 Stanford wrapped up its season-opening road swing with a pair of victories, closing out its fall competition slate.
The Cardinal blanked No. 13 Virginia 9-0 in its season opener on Friday, with the Cavaliers hosting their first home competitions since transitioning to a varsity program.
Stanford followed that up with a 6-3 victory over Penn on Saturday, putting itself in position to sweep the East Coast trip.
However, the Cardinal dropped a 6-3 decision to No. 4 Princeton on Sunday in a battle of top-five programs.
Chloe Chemtob, Caroline Neave and Christie Huchro all went undefeated in their three matches over the weekend.
Stanford, coming off a historic season in which it finished fifth at the CSA National Championships, returns to action on Jan. 6, hosting Drexel in the first of six consecutive matches to be played on The Farm.
