STANFORD, Calif. – Incoming freshman Jenna Brown will participate in the 17th annual McDonald's All American Game on March 28 in Atlanta.
Brown is on the East Team for the game, which begins at 2 p.m. PT and will be televised live on ESPN2. This year's teams were selected from more than 700 nominees by the McDonald's All American Games selection committee, led by Morgan Wootten, committee chairman and legendary Hall of Fame basketball coach.
Brown (Marietta, Ga./The Lovett School) will add her names to an exclusive list of 20 Cardinal women's basketball alumnae to be featured in the nation's premier high school basketball all-star event, including five current Stanford players in DiJonai Carrington, Nadia Fingall, Anna Wilson, Maya Dodson and Kiana Williams.
Brown is a five-star talent, the No. 20 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100 and part of Stanford's ninth-ranked recruiting class along with twins Lacie and Lexie Hull out of Spokane, Wash. She is back on the court this year after missing her junior season recovering from a torn ACL and has averaged 24 points and eight rebounds in leading The Lovett School in Atlanta to a 13-4 record and a perfect 7-0 mark in in Region 5-AAA.
As a sophomore in 2015-16 she played in all 30 games and averaged 18.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.3 blocks to help her team to an 18-12 record and state tournament appearance.
She started 28 games as a freshman with averages of 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals. The Lions went 21-9 record and advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament.
A USA Basketball veteran, Brown won bronze alongside Dodson at the 2016 FIBA U17 World Cup in Zaragoza Spain.
