Vom Steeg at YNT Summit

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford freshman defender Carson Vom Steeg is participating at the first U.S. Soccer Men's Youth National Team Summit Camp, which begins today and runs through Jan. 11 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

A total of 153 players were named to rosters at the summit for the U.S. U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-20 Youth National Teams, which represents a first of its kind youth training camp that will focus on integration between players, coaches and staff from the five oldest Youth National Teams.

On the U-20 roster for the summit, Vom Steeg's most recent U.S. Soccer experience came in October when he was in Marabella, Spain with the U-18 Men's National Team for an international camp, which included friendlies with Belgium and Russia.

Vom Steeg played in 18 matches this season for the Cardinal, including two starts at right back. Stanford won its third consecutive national championship this season and finished with a Pac-12 record 0.382 goals against average.

A U-18 captain since 2015, Vom Steeg has appeared in a trio of tournaments for his country. The right back played at the Lisbon International Tournament in June 2017 and the Open Nordic Cup in Sweden in 2015 and helped the United States to a title at the 2016 Václav Ježek Tournament in the Czech Republic.
