STANFORD, Calif. – Ryan Sheppard has been named the College Gymnastics Association and the MPSF Gymnast of the Week, as announced by both organizations Wednesday.
The honors are the first of Sheppard's career after a weekend that saw him claim event titles in still rings (13.650) and in the all-around (82.050) as placing third on pommel horse (13.400), parallel bars (13.800), and high bar (13.450), and tied for fourth on vault (14.100).
The honors are first of his career in his first appearance since the 2016 NCAA Championships as Stanford claimed its second tri-meet sweep of the season against No. 18 UIC and No. 8 Iowa.
Stanford and Sheppard will look to keep the momentum going on Saturay, Jan. 27 when the Cardinal hosts the Stanford Open.
