STANFORD, Calif. - No. 4 Stanford powered past No. 9 Drexel 8-1 on Saturday afternoon in the first of five consecutive home matches to be played on The Farm.
Chloe Chemtob was one of six Cardinal players who won their match in straight sets.
Stanford (3-1) was returning to action for the first time since November, when the Cardinal won two of three contests during an East Coast swing to begin the season.
The Cardinal, coming off a historic season in which it finished fifth at the CSA National Championships, next hosts No. 25 Hamilton (4 p.m.) and No. 20 Wesleyan (7:30 p.m.) on Tuesday, Jan. 9 in a doubleheader at the Arrillaga Center for Sports & Recreation.
