TEMPE, Ariz. – A career 3-for-4 night with five RBIs from Montana Dixon wouldn't prove to be enough after a nine-run fifth inning rally from the Seattle Redhawks proved to be insurmountable as Stanford fell 13-9 Friday night in day two of the Kajikawa Classic.
The Cardinal offense started off hot in the first inning powered by Whitney Burks hitting the first Stanford home run of the season with a three-run shot to center to take a 4-0 lead. SU was able to cut the score in half in the bottom half of the inning with one of three errors on the night coming into play.

Seattle (1-1) added another run in the third, but Stanford (1-2) added three more in the fifth off of Dixon's three-run home run to jump to a 7-3 lead.
The Cardinal battled back in its last at bats with Dixon and Kristina Inouye adding RBIs to pull the score within four before the Redhawks were able to close out the win.
Stanford returns to action tomorrow with an 8 a.m. game against Fresno State on Pac-12 Networks before facing Cal State Northridge at 1:15 p.m. PT.
