STANFORD, Calif. – For the second time in as many weeks, Tom Fawcett was named the Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Fawcett, ranked No. 33 in the latest ITA rankings, led No. 5 Stanford to a 4-2 win over No. 10 Illinois this past Saturday in Champaign, Illinois.

Playing 160 miles from his hometown of Winnetka, Illinois, Fawcett clinched the match victory for the Cardinal with the 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (5) win over No. 46 Aleks Vukic at No. 1 singles. It was the senior's third win in four dual matches over a ranked opponent. He handed Vukic his first loss of the season.

Fawcett also teamed with freshman Axel Geller at No. 2 doubles. The duo, ranked No. 32 in the ITA doubles rankings, improved to 5-0 on the season with a 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot to help the Cardinal secure the doubles point Saturday.

The senior is 12-2 on the season, including 3-1 in dual action. With Saturday's win, Fawcett moved into 31st on Stanford's career dual victories list with a 45-20 career record.

At No. 5 in the latest Oracle/ITA National Team Rankings, Stanford owns its highest ranking in nine seasons. The Cardinal's 6-0 record is its best start to dual play in seven seasons.

The Pac-12 Player of the Week honor is the second of Fawcett's career and second in as many weeks.

With victories over Oregon and No. 22 Tulane during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend two weeks ago, Stanford earned its first berth in the ITA National Indoor Championships in six seasons. The Cardinal will compete in the ITA National Indoor Championships this coming Friday through Monday on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle.
