PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – Stanford posted the third-best score among an 18-team field Monday to move up one spot during the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.

Stanford's 8-over-par 292 put the Cardinal in fifth place, one spot better than its opening-round finish. At 19-over through 36 holes, the Cardinal continues to chase clubhouse co-leaders Alabama and UCLA at 8-over.

The Cardinal was paced by Mika Liu's 1-over at the par-71 Palos Verdes Golf Club. Liu, tied for ninth among individuals, was 3-over through six before closing her front nine with a pair of birdies. She was even-par on the back stretch, putting her at 2-over through two rounds.
