IRVINE, Calif. – Playing in its second MPSF match of the season, Stanford fell 25-17, 25-16, 25-23 at Concordia, Thursday, at CU Arena.
 
Stanford (2-11, 0-2 MPSF) hit just .187 in the match and had 17 service errors to go with 20 hitting errors. Concordia (5-5) picked up its first MPSF win, hitting .297 as a team. The Eagles also tallied six aces and 12.0 blocks.
 
Stanford utilized the same starting lineup for the fifth straight contest, but ended the match with different personnel. Senior Evan Enriques, who started at outside hitter, played libero in the third set and finished with a team-high nine digs.
 
Sophomore Eric Beatty led all players with 13 kills on .333 hitting to go with five digs. Fifth-year senior middle blocker Kevin Rakestraw had six kills on 10 swings with just one error to hit .500. He also had a hand in two of the Cardinal's three blocks.
 
Freshman outside hitter JP Reilly came off the bench to tally five kills, two digs and a block in two sets, while redshirt freshman middle blocker Cole Paullin had four kills on .375 hitting in the third set.
 
Junior setter Russell Dervay posted 31 assists, two kills and four digs for Stanford.
 
Darcy Taig led Concordia with nine kills on 14 errorless swings (.643), while Taylor Falduti anchored the Eagles' defense with nine blocks. Reigning MPSF Defensive Player of the Week Jacob Weiser had a match-best 10 digs.
 
Up next, Stanford travels to Phoenix for a date with No. 10 Grand Canyon on Saturday at 3 p.m. PT.
