STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 10 Stanford men's tennis team, off to a 3-0 start, hosts a pair of top-10 opponents in much-anticipated weekend on The Farm.
The Cardinal host No. 5 USC on Friday at 3 p.m. PT and No. 6 UCLA on Sunday at noon PT in the inaugural Dick Gould Stanford/SoCal Challenge. The matches are named for Stanford's legendary former coach and Hall of Fame inductee, Dick Gould.
Both matches will be streamed live at http://streamingtennis.com/Cardinal.
Stanford entered the top-10 in the Oracle/ITA Division I rankings this week for the first time in five seasons, since the Cardinal was also No. 10 in the Jan. 22, 2013 national poll.

Over this past weekend, Stanford punched its ticket to the ITA National Indoor Championships with a 4-0 win over Oregon and a 4-1 victory over No. 22 Tulane and in Berkeley. The Cardinal earned a berth in the ITA National Indoor Championships for the first time since 2012. The national event will be held Feb. 16-19 on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle.
Senior Tom Fawcett enters the weekend 10-1 on the season, coming off a straight set win over a top-25 opponent in Tulane at No. 1 singles.
USC is also 3-0 on the season after earning its 10th straight berth to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships with a 6-1 win over Indiana with a 6-1 win over UC Santa Barbara at home.
UCLA comes into the weekend 6-0 on the season. The Bruins also advanced to the ITA National Indoor Championships with a 4-0 wins over UC Davis and Utah State.
All three schools have faced each other many times throughout the years. USC leads the all-time series with Stanford 68-61, while UCLA holds a 71-58 edge in the all-time series against the Cardinal.
