STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Albane Valenzuela has received an invitation to play in the ANA Inspiration at Mission Hills Country Club (March 26-April 1), as announced recently. Valenzuela is one of six amateurs -- and four current collegiate players -- to receive an invitation.
Valenzuela, currently the world's fourth-ranked amateur golfer, earned low amateur honors at the 2016 ANA Inspiration and received a second invite in 2017. The Swiss player is the only amateur in the field who participated in the 2016 Olympic Games. She is Switzerland's top-ranked golfer.
Last year, Valenzuela continued to rise up the World Amateur Golf Rankings with a victory at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional, and a runner-up finish at the European Ladies Amateur Championship and U.S. Women's Amateur. She went on to earn All-Pac-12 first team honors.
