NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 4 Cardinal posted its second-best team score of the season with a 410.500, but only Robert Neff took an event title in the high bar as Stanford defeated No. 2 Nebraska, but fell to No. 1 Oklahoma as the Sooners posted an NCAA-best 418.000 Saturday night.
The first rotation Stanford (7-1) posted two career-bests on rings with Andrew Bitner starting with a 13.700 and Gareth Weiss adding a 13.650 to compile its second-best score of the year with a 67.850.
The Cardinal struggled a bit in the next event on floor before Ryan Sheppard posted his second-best score of the year with a 13.650 that Robert Neff matched before Connor Lewis added a huge 14.000 to post a 67.700.
Stanford added its season-best score on pommel horse next with a 66.850 with senior Neff and Sheppard leading the way though Blake Sun added a career-best 13.300 followed up by Andrew Bitner with a 13.00 to hold second place at the halfway mark.
Neff added his third high bar title of the season with a 13.900 in the fourth rotation, followed with Sheppard tying for seventh in the event with a 13.550 as Stanford compiled a 66.850 for its best team score of the season.
Three Cardinal tied on vault next with a 14.500 as Bryan Perla and Gareth Weiss added career-best with teammate Bailey Perez joining them with the same score. Stanford added a season-best 71.700 as a team in the event to retain second place.
Last up on parallel bars, Stanford went all-out adding career bests from Andrew Bitner (13.950) and a career-best from Jacob Barrus (14.300). Neff added his second-best score of 14.000 on the season, but Blake Sun stole the show for a 14.400 for a second-place finish in the event.
In the All-Around Robert Neff claimed second to OU's Yul Moldauer with a season-best 83.450.
The Cardinal returns home next week as it sets to host the Pac-12 Challenge on Saturday at 4 p.m. PT in Burnham Pavilion.
