STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Rachael Flam was named Pac-12 Women's Gymnast Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
A native of Houston, Texas, Flam helped the No. 20 Cardinal capture last Friday's quad meet at UC Davis by tying for first in three events and won the all-around in her first collegiate outing on all four rotations. She posted season-highs in every event.
Flam shared first place on floor exercise (9.875), vault (9.875) and beam (9.825), and tied for fourth on the uneven bars (9.800). She scored 39.375 in the all-around.
A graduate of Texas Connections Academy, Flam held the highest all-around (39.275), vault (10.0) and beam scores (9.9) among Level 10 gymnasts in the United States during the 2017 competitive season.
