Convincing Road Win

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 3 Stanford men's tennis earned a convincing 4-0 victory over Arizona Friday afternoon at Lanelle Robson Tennis Center to improve to 12-1 overall and 2-0 in Pac-12 play.

The Cardinal picked up their first point in doubles action as the No. 27 ranked team of Tom Fawcett and Axel Geller dropped just two games, en route to the win at the No. 2 spot. Freshman Timothy Sah and senior David Wilczynski clinched the point with a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot.

Fawcett (ranked No 11), Geller (ranked No. 36) and Genender each picked up straight-set wins in singles action at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 spots, respectively, to seal the victory for the Cardinal.

With the win already in the books, Sameer Kumar, Eric Fomba and David Wilczynski each had their matches abandoned.

With a sweep of the Arizona schools completed, Stanford returns home where the Cardinal will host a pair of matches at Taube Family Tennis Stadium on Sunday against Air Force at 11 a.m. PT and Army at 3 p.m. PT.
