Four Straight

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 26 Stanford women's tennis cruised to a 6-1 victory over Hawai'i Sunday afternoon at Taube Tennis Stadium for its fourth consecutive victory.
 
The Cardinal (8-3, 3-0 Pac-12) won the doubles point and sophomore Emma Higuchi provide the clincher at No. 5 singles with her seventh dual victory (15th overall) of the season.
 
Stanford used 6-1 wins by the No. 1 doubles team of Emily Arbuthnott and Michaela Gordon, No. 3 in the Oracle/ITA rankings, and the No. 2 doubles team of Caroline Lampl and Kimberly Yee to take a 1-0 lead over Hawai'i (6-6, 2-2 Big West).
 
Yee gave the Cardinal a 2-0 advantage, surrendering just two games in a win at the No. 6 spot. Lampl inched Stanford closer to the win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2, and Higuchi clinched it with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5.
 
Gordon dropped her first match in more than a month as Petra Melounova earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the No. 1 spot to give Hawai'i its lone point in the match.
 
The Cardinal will complete its homestand this coming Wednesday, March 28, at 1:30 p.m. PT against UC Santa Barbara. Stanford will return to Pac-12 play later in the week, with matches at Arizona State on Friday, March 30, and Arizona on Saturday, March 31.
