Cardinal Outlasts BYU

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - No. 4 Stanford was victorious in its women's golf match against BYU on Monday at the San Diego State March Mayhem. The Cardinal secured a dominant 3-2 victory over the Cougars to pick up the win at The Farms Golf Club, a par-72 track situated north of San Diego.

Andrea Lee cruised to a 5&4 win against BYU's Annie Yang. Mika Liu claimed her bout with Anna Kennedy, 2&1. Kelsey Yeng helped shelve the victory with a 3&2 win.

During the stroke play portion of the tournament, Stanford posted a 20-over-par 308. Lee (+2) led the Cardinal, followed by Ziyi Wang (+3), Shannon Aubert (+7), Zeng (+8) and Liu (+9).

Lee's score was 15th-best among individuals, with Wang placing 24th.

Stanford missed out on advancing to the championship bracket, which consists of the top eight teams through stroke play, and squared up with BYU.
