Stunning Showcase

STANFORD, Calif. - No. 3 Stanford put the finishing touches on one of its most highly anticipated meets of the season, capturing the title at the International Collegiate Challenge at Burnham Pavilion.

The Cardinal produced its second-highest score of the season, posting a 410.700 to lead the pack in a meet that featured reigning Olympic champion Japan, the national team from Canada and three other top-15 collegiate opponents.

No. 8 Michigan took second at 410.350, followed by Japan in third at 409.450. No. 7 Illinois placed fourth at 404.250, No. 13 California was fifth at 384.650 and Canada rounded out the scoring at 353.450.

Robert Neff compiled an 81.200 in the all-around, including a second-place finish on the pommel horse with a season-high 14.300.

Grant Breckenridge and Blake Sun contributed Stanford's lone individual titles. Breckenridge produced a 14.100 in the high bar while Sun tallied a season-best 14.400 on the parallel bars.

Stanford returns to action on Saturday, March 10, hosting Ohio State in a Senior Night meet scheduled for 4 p.m. at Maples Pavilion.
