STANFORD, Calif. – Junior Courtney Bowen and freshman Sunny Villapando were named the Pac-12 Conference Beach Pair of the Week, as announced Tuesday.
As the Cardinal's No. 2 pairing for the last eight duals, Bowen and Villapando are 7-1. The tandem went a perfect 4-0 in last weekend's Pac-12 North Invitational in Seattle, where Stanford earned wins against No. 13 Cal, Oregon, and Washington.
The duo was also named to the Pac-12 North Invitational All-Tournament Team Sunday for having the best pairs record of any flight at the No. 2 position.
Bowen, Villapando and the Cardinal close out the regular season at Cal on Saturday in the Big Spike. Stanford hosts the second annual Pac-12 Championship the following week, April 26-28, at Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium.
