Battle 4 Atlantis

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford will participate in the 2018 Battle 4 Atlantis men's basketball tournament at Paradise Island, Bahamas, Nov. 21-23.

The Battle 4 Atlantis, presented by Bad Boy Mowers, will be held Wednesday through Friday of Thanksgiving week at the Imperial Arena on Paradise Island near Nassau. Stanford will be joined in the eight-team field by Florida, Butler, Virginia, Dayton, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Middle Tennessee State.

Stanford has faced six of the other seven teams in its history, having yet to meet Middle Tennessee State. The Cardinal's most recent contest against a member of the 2018 Battle 4 Atlantis field was Florida, which Stanford faced in the PK80 Invitational in Portland, Oregon, on Thanksgiving Day this past season.

The tournament bracket includes four games each of the three days. Each matchup will be televised on the ESPN family of networks. The tournament's full schedule, including game matchups, will be announced in July.

Stanford is making its second appearance in the Battle 4 Atlantis. The Cardinal was part of the 2012 field, placing sixth in the tournament with losses to Missouri and Minnesota and a victory over Northern Iowa.

The Cardinal is coming off a 19-16 season in which it finished third in the Pac-12 with an 11-6 record for its highest finish and most conference victories in 10 seasons. Under the direction of second-year Stanford head coach Jerod Haase, the Cardinal earned a postseason berth this past season for the first time in three years. Stanford reached the second round of the NIT, falling to Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
